Pk11 791bf28108 A lot of fairly minor changes (see desc)
- I want to get all the formatting and such good and consistent and such before pushing to Crowdin, since this is such a big update took the opportunity to clean up some other old things too
- Removed NightScript from staff list as he has officially retired now
- Un-recommended libslim as it's still rather unstable
- Removed link to NightScript's flashcard page as it's dead
- A lotta little things with consistency of formatting
- Fixes some links being from root which forces English
- Some phrasing changes, particularly removing "we" and "our" and fixing tense inconsistencies ("could" vs "can", "would" vs "will")
- Updated CONTRIBUTING.md a bit

en-US wiki twilightmenu other Playing in Widescreen How to use TWiLight Menu++ in widescreen on the Nintendo 3DS

Requires a Nintendo 3DS or 2DS console. {:.alert .alert-info}

Preparation

  • Make sure Luma's boot.firm is on the SD root for this to work

Installing

  1. Download TWPatch and copy TWPatch.cia to your SD card (GBATemp thread)
  2. Install TWPatch.cia using FBI
    • You can also use Universal-Updater to install TWPatch instead of the previous two steps
  3. Return to the home menu and launch TWPatch
  4. Hold Y + B to open the patch menu and enable Widescreen patch (384x240 16:10)
  5. (Optional!) For a less pixelated widescreen, also enable GPU scaling (blurry, no filters)
  6. Press B to exit the patch menu
  7. Press START to generate a TwlBg.cxi file with widescreen
    • If the top screen doesn't indicate that wide patch is enabled, start from step 3 again
  8. Move TwlBg.cxi from sd:/luma/sysmodules/ to sd:/_nds/TWiLightMenu/TwlBg/ (create TwlBg folder, if it doesn't exist), and rename the file to Widescreen.cxi
  9. Restart your 3DS while holding SELECT to open Luma3DS's configuration
  10. Enable external FIRMs and modules, then press START to save and quit
  11. Open TWiLight Menu++ settings, switch to the Games/Apps settings page, and set Screen Aspect Ratio to 16:10
    • This can be done per-game as well

You're all done! Enjoy your DS games in widescreen!

NOTES:

  1. Do not hold START or SELECT when launching TWLMenu++, if you don't want widescreen to look glitched
  2. Not every game is widescreen compatible. Here is a list of games with widescreen support
  3. If you're stuck in widescreen mode in all of TWL_FIRM (including the TWLMenu++ GUI) after following this guide and launching a widescreen-compatible game, delete TwlBg.cxi at sd:/luma/sysmodules/, and uninstall and re-install TWiLight Menu++, and re-follow the above guide
